A Common Opportunity: Leveraging the Common Core to move Curriculum and Technology Ahead
The CCSS provides the opportunity to rethink how we are using technology and teaching. See how one school has systematically updated technological infrastructure, developed a plan for 1:1 capabilities, created ebook teaching manuals to fill in gaps between our Math program and Common Core, and is building dynamic student textbooks in the iPad format. Leverage the Common Core and technology to give teachers the support they need to prepare students for the 21st century.

Growing an “Organic” Textbook; Cultivating Student-Centered Learning” –
The one-to-one netbook initiative and Google apps set the stage for the creation of an original student-centered digital grade 7 global studies textbook. To assist students in managing digital information, this textbook furnished the platform for effective student collaboration and inquiry-based learning. This provided an authentic audience for student work and lead to highly motivated students enthusiastic to apply and share their learning. We are eager to share what we have learned and how we continue to grow!
