In this workshop for teachers of grades 3-5, participants will be provided with hands-on opportunities to explore a variety of strategies and resources to develop a student workflow to leverage iPads in the implementation of the Common Core. Apps explored in this workshop will get at specific strategies, skills, knowledge, and content. All-purpose apps that support the 21st Century skills embedded in the Common Core - creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and sharing, will be included.
The Common Core Standards call for students to be able to move further in emphasis on analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The iPad can engage students by giving them the power to gain deeper understanding of new learning, and give them the opportunity to share their learning globally. This workshop will not be about how to use the iPad, but rather how the iPad can be used to support learning activities and assessment strategies aligned to the Common Core Standards.
Please have your iTunes account set up with your credit card or bring an iTunes gift card, as we will be purchasing about $20 worth of iPad apps
